If you've been seeing a lot of people growing facial hair recently -- its attributable to one of two things:
1.) Our beard care products make it easier for men to groom and take proper care of the beards (and I'd like to think that's a big part of it!)
2.) Growing facial hair is becoming a very popular trend again.
No need to split "facial hairs" over this -- we'll be humble and attribute it to the latter reason.
Today (January 30th), LSU's paper, the Daily Reveille featured an article about the immense popularity of facial hair and the comeback its making.
That's especially evident on college and university campuses where grass-roots movements are leading the charge against the clean-shaven.

Grizzly Men
I've heard of a playoff beard - but here's a new twist: "Conference Beard". That's what the Dickinson State Men's Basketball Team are calling it -- and get this: Ever since the beards have been growing, DSU hasn't lost a game.
The Blue Hawks are 6-0 in 2009 and are alone at the top of the DAC with a 7-0 record.
But neither I nor the players call it "the luck of the beard." But luck or not, that natural growth sure gives you a determined and don't mess with me look, when 5 guys step onto the paint with some serious facial hair.
All in all - I believe Senior Mark Versen has the best beard of them all. From the press report it seems he’s not touching his new facial hair as long as the team keeps winning.
Now if only the Memphis Grizzlies got some guys to do that -- I'd think they'd do much better.

Beards and Presidents
Continuing on the theme and subject of the Inauguration, we at Beard Care Products are reminded of US Presidents who have kept beards.
The Wall Street Journal this week had a page where they showed all the Presidents along with snippets from their Inaugural address. Naturally, we gravitated towards the ones that had beards first!
We got an idea of doing an informal poll, on what our readers think is the President with the best facial hair!
To keep it limited, we went for the full facial hair and chose five former Presidents. Click on the links below to read complete profiles at Wikipedia but don't forget to come back and vote!
Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the US.
Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the US.
Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th President of the US.
James A. Garfield, 20th President of the US.
Benjamin Harrison, 23rd President of the US.
The poll is to your right -- vote now! -- Yes you can vote, and Yes you can grow your facial hair!

Inauguration
Today the USA made history by electing Barack Obama as the 44th President. There were references to Lincoln and that reminded me of Lincoln's beard. He had a very nice beard, gave him a determined and distinguishing look.
The closest we got to anybody having facial hair at the Inauguration today was Rick Warren. He has a goatee from what I could tell.

Soap It Up!
We've come out with two new soaps one for our "Beard Care" Line and the other for our "Skin Care" Line.
For the Beard Care Line, we have a custom formulated soap called "Botanical Beard Bar" that we've worked on for a while now.
We wanted to combine the effect of oils and aloe-vera into a great botanical soap that has a refreshing scent and I believe that is what we have humbly accomplished.
You can do a quick beard wash before bed if you don't want to go through the shampoo route. We are selling our it for $6.95 -- click here to read more and purchase.
For our Natural Skin Care Line, we have our Pure Skin 'Pine Tar' Soap. This is as macho as skin care for men can get.
Pine Tar has a long history of being used by people as a natural treatment for dry, itchy or flaky skin.
With a 20% pine tar content, along with olive, coconut and castor oils this is one skin treatment that is manly, natural, and affordable at only $6.95 a bar.
The reason we put the 20% is because the product is not therapeutic if it has less than 20%, so even if that is more information then you wanted to know -- you have to know what you're getting right? Below is the link to purchase, and directions for use.
Click here to read more and purchase.
DIRECTIONS OF USE FOR PURE SKIN PINE TAR SOAP:
Step #1 - Rub Pine Tar Bar onto clean wash cloth or onto hands with warm (to open pores) water and develop a nice lather similar to the appearance of shaving cream. Lightly massage onto face or other body part for approximately 30 seconds and rinse with warm water.
Step #2 – Repeat Step 1 but rinse with cold water on the 2nd time (to close pores) and lock in all the healing properties of this bar. Allow to dry completely.
If using for acne or skin breakouts - do NOT follow with a moisturizer. If using for Psorisis or flaky skin condition, you may follow with a moisturizing product

Natural Skin Care for Men
For sometime now, we have had our Natural Skin Care for Men website as part of our range of offerings to discerning gentlemen. That's because we think there is a natural link between those interested in optimal care for their facial hair and those interested in superb care for their face and skin.
We've added new products to our growing range of skin care products and we just added two products today. One is a "Moisturizing Hydrator and Aftershave." The great thing about this, is that its alcohol-free and fragrance-free.
It contains meadowsweet extract which is known to help the body's defense against bacteria which can lead to skin inflammations such as acne. It also contains Vitamin E and Milk Protein for a triple combination designed to keep you skin looking young, healthy and silky-smooth. Each hydration lasts up to 16 hours. Currently we are selling it for only $16.95.
The 2nd product we've added is a "Deep Cleansing Masque". This is perfect skin detoxification for men. In the city, in the traffic, all the environmental toxins can wreak havoc on your skin and face.
The Deep Cleansing Masque contains Sea Kelp, which has powerful antioxidant properties. To pack a powerful punch, this macho detox also contains antioxidant vitamins B,C, and E rounded out with Aloe Vera. Use once or twice a week to keep your skin feeling firm and soft. Currently we are selling it for only $18.95
If you would like to purchase either or both of the above products please visit our Men's Skin Care at Beard Care Products to order.
We offer free shipping on all orders over $50 (Priority Mail - gets to you in 2-3 days and faster than courier ground service), so you get a really great deal!
